On Saturday, May 3, 2008, Cyclone Nargis blew through Myanmar at 120 miles per hour. 14-May-08
By the time the storm had passed, tens of thousands of people were declared dead or missing, and thousands more were left without homes, food, or clean drinking water. In the days that followed, as scores of desperate victims waded helplessly through contaminated, debris-filled floodwaters, the international community rallied around the small Asian country with generous offers of emergency assistance. But instead of accepting whatever humanitarian aid it could get for its citizens, the Burmese government chose to enforce restrictions on who would be allowed to transport aid past its borders.

 While others around the world wait for permission to deliver desperately needed aid into Myanmar, CFI backpack medics are already on the move, navigating their way into the most remote areas where help is so urgently needed.

 Over 500 World Vision staff are on the ground, delivering emergency relief to the children and families who need it most. We need your help. Each gift helps provide a Family Survival Kit, containing things like: Emergency food, Clean water, Cooksets, Blankets & temporary shelter. It will also enable World Vision to stay in disaster-affected areas for the long haul, rebuilding communities and lives.

Indie Bands Wanted 02-Jan-08
In 2007 we introduced the Big Ticket Indie stage. We are looking for 18 Bands/Artists to play at the festival. The top three bands that stand out will be asked to play at Big Ticket 2009 on one of the 3 main stages. One of the judges is a representative from Quick Artist Agency and is looking to discover new talent for their record label. The scoring for the competition is based on a combination of attendee votes and judges choice.
